The final games of the regular season are upon us!  With many teams still unsure where they will place in the standings, let’s take a look at some of the important matches happening this weekend.

Necaxa vs Guadalajara ( Friday, April 29th at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET)

Chivas will visit the Estadio Victoria for the final regular season match in hopes of possibly sneaking into the final automatic liguilla spot. Both teams are tied on points however El Rebaño has the upper hand as they lead by goal differential. While Chivas has already booked their spot in the repechaje, this match will be crucial as it could determine if they host the repechaje match or have to play as the visiting team. This match is not to be taken lightly as there are big repercussions if El Rebaño is not able to get a win. With the way the team has been playing, a victory is expected from them. However, it may be more complicated than it seems as Necaxa has been ascending these past three weeks. This match will be critical for positioning making it a must watch on Friday night.

Club America vs Cruz Azul ( Saturday, April 30th at 7 PM PT / 10 PM ET)

El Clasico Joven will be the game that closes out the final Sábado Futbolero for this season. With both teams entering this match on two different trajectories, this clasico will be one of the more exciting ones in quite some time. Both teams are separated by one measly point however America has been on the rise with no end in sight. Meanwhile, La Maquina has only secured one victory out of their previous three matches, forcing them to drop out from the final automatic liguilla spot and into the repechaje. This is going to be a high stakes game that will definitely shake up the table depending on who wins and it is going to be a test for both teams as they will prepare for what is most likely will be a repechaje postseason.

Pumas vs Pachuca ( Sunday, May 1st at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET)

After a grueling draw in the CONCACAF Champions League Final, Pumas will shift their focus back to Liga Mx as they have a critical match against Pachuca. They will have to go toe-to-toe against the SuperLider in order to secure their spot in the repechaje. It’s as simple as this for Pumas: win and you’re in. However that task will be complicated as Pachuca has been playing stellar football for the past couple of weeks. Another issue for Pumas will be rotations and fatigueness as Lillini has had to rotate his players trying to balance out both tournaments. If Pumas is able to get the result they need it will be a huge accomplishment for the club. As for Pachuca they will use this match to tune up for the liguilla and figure out what is best for them in hopes of trying to obtain their seventh title.
