Mexicanas Abroad: Recaps & Previews – Week 45

Heading into the international break, the Mexicanas Abroad contingent was particularly busy. Only Emily Alvarado in France and Myra Delgadillo in Portugal didn’t have games scheduled, although Perla Morones and Verónica Jiménez’ match was postponed.

Primera División Femenina (Costa Rica)

Zoe Tapia came on in the 18th minute for Nathaly Najera, scoring two goals for Suva Sports in their 3-0 win over Municipal Pérez Zeledón. Karina Santana played all 90 minutes for Suva, as they moved to third place in the Group B table. Their next match is against Alajuelense.

Kvindeliga (Denmark)

Brøndby IF (Daniella Díaz) has announced a slate of friendlies ahead of the upcoming season. On Monday, February 14th they’ll play FC Nordsjælland, then B93 on Thursday, February 24th before finishing the preseason against Vittsjö GIK on Sunday, February 27th.

FA Women’s Super League (England)

Silvana Flores was not on the game day roster as Tottenham beat Birmingham City 2-0 on Sunday, February 13th. Tottenham are in third place with 27 points, two behind Chelsea and four behind Arsenal. Their next match is Sunday, March 6th when they are away at Reading.

Tatiana Flores was not on the game day roster as Chelsea drew Arsenal 0-0 on Friday, February 11th. Chelsea are in second place with 29 points, two behind Arsenal and two over Tottenham. Their next match is Saturday, February 26th when they host Leicester City in a FA Women’s Cup fifth round match. Their next league match isn’t until Thursday, March 10th when they’re away at West Ham.

Liga Nacional de Fútbol Femenino (Guatemala)

CSD Suchitepéquez’ (Perla Morones and Verónica Jiménez) match against Huehuetecas FC has been postponed due to an outbreak of COVID-19 in the Suchitepéquez squad.

Eredivisie Vrouwen (Netherlands)

Anika Rodriguez played all 90 minutes in PSV’s 3-1 win over VV Alkmaar on Friday, February 11th. PSV are in third place with 29 points, four behind Twente and five behind Ajax. Their next match is hosting Feyenoord in the KNVB Women’s Cup Quarterfinal on Sunday, February 27th. Their next league match is hosting Ajax on the following day (Monday, February 28th).

Liga Iberdrola (Spain)

Kenti Robles was subbed out for Ivana Andrés in second half stoppage time as Real Madrid beat Eibar 2-0 on Sunday, February 13th. Real Madrid are in sixth place with 35 points, one behind Athletic Club and 31 behind first place Barcelona.
