Domestic club action returned for our Mexicans Abroad. Here are the highlights from this past weekend.

Premier League

Raul Jimenez produced his seventh goal in all competitions this season when he opened up the scoring in Wolves’ 2-0 win against Tottenham. He now has five league goals and two assists, matching players like Kane, Lacazette, and Firminho who also have seven goals produced this season. With this win Wolves move into seventh place and are just three points away from getting into qualifying for European competitions. Raul played 85 minutes, scoring one of his three shots on goal, won four duels, and had a clearance. He also had 15 precise passes along with a 65% passing accuracy. Wolves will stay put at home and will receive Leicester City next weekend.

La Liga

Real Madrid dropped two critical points this weekend in their 0-0 draw with Villarreal, allowing Sevilla to inch closer with their huge 2-0 win this past Friday against Elche, cutting the lead to now only four points and making this a two-horse race. Jesus “Tecatito” Corona was a starter for Sevilla and was able to get a full hour of play during the match. He would be substituted for Rafa Mir in the 60th minute who would go on and score Sevilla’s second goal. Though he didn’t have his typical explosiveness, Tecatito had himself a solid evening where he would win three duels, have one key pass and receive two fouls. He also had 21 precise passes and a 75% passing accuracy. Sevilla will now shift their focus to European play as they will travel to Croatia to take on Dinamo Zagreb for the Europa League.
