As the MLS season is nearing the finish line, there are many teams in both conferences still battling for a playoff position. Week 34’s most offensive game was in Salt Lake City, where the Quakes played spoiler to a Real Salt Lake playoff run.

Fierro Scores in Goal Fest

Carlos Fierro scored and assisted in the San Jose Earthquake’s 4-3 win over Real Salt Lake. Scoring in the 37th minute, Fierro opened the scoring for San Jose and assisted a Chris Wondolowski goal to give the Quakes a 2-1 lead at halftime. Fierro subbed out in the 70th minute while Oslwaldo Alanis played the full 90 and received a yellow card. Eduardo ‘Chofis’ Lopez was not a part of the active roster for the game. San Jose remains in 10th place after the win and will miss the playoffs.

The Rest

Rodolfo Pizarro played 35 minutes in Miami’s 3-1 loss to NYCFC. Erick ‘Cubo’ Torres and Jurgen Damm were not featured in Atlanta United’s 1-1 draw with Toronto FC.

The LA Galaxy play the Seattle Sounders Monday night. LAFC will host the Vancouver Whitecaps Tuesday night.
