With the Apertura already at its halfway point, Jornada 9 will see Liga MX clubs play with a greater sense of urgency as they look to push toward a title run or a relegation zone escape. In fact, Jornada 9 features a number of battles on both the title contending fronts and on the relegation front.
In fact, Friday, September 15 will feature two matches in which potential title contenders travel to Morelia and Tijuana to take on sides on winning streaks of three or more matches in Liga MX. And Sunday’s final match at the Estadio Luis Pirata Fuente has the potential to be a relegation six-pointer, when Veracruz host relegation-threatened Lobos BUAP. Incidentally, Tiburones Rojos themselves happen to be the side who is second from bottom in the relegation table.
With the GolTV studios still not showing live programming due to the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, U.S. viewers will not see a single match from Jornada 8 of Ascenso MX’s Apertura 2017 tournament.
