With Monterrey, Toluca, and Tijuana already in La Liguilla, Jornada 16 presents itself with make or break matches throughout, including must-win matches for Tigres UANL, Chivas, Atlas, Santos Laguna, Club America, Necaxa, as well as a potential playoff eliminator between relegation-threatened Morelia and Pumas UNAM. Not only that, Puebla, Morelia, Veracruz, and Chiapas are all still in danger of relegation entering the round. Besides slim playoff hopes, all four of the teams will be looking to spoil the party for their opponents as they look toward safety. However, if Veracruz, Chiapas, and Puebla all win (or with Puebla earning a draw against Necaxa) and Morelia lose, Las Monarcas would be officially relegated.And the return legs of the Ascenso MX Clausura semifinals also take place this weekend.
