With the Gold Cup barely in the past, Liga MX is already starting back up–and early. With the draft officially being abolished and the transfer window lasting until August 31, many sides are still figuring out their reinforcements. Regardless, the Apertura gets underway with a new intricacy in Liga MX. Because there are 19 teams this season, one team will be off from Liga MX play every round. In Jornada 1, it’s Veracruz who get the week off.

In addition, with Veracruz’s relegation coefficient reset and several teams, including Chivas, Queretaro, Atlas, and FC Juarez hanging close to the drop zone and every team in Ascenso MX this season certified to be promoted to Liga MX, the relegation battle may start to get tense from the opening weekend. Apps will remain in their pre-Univision/Televisa merger names for this week.

Here is where you can watch the action from this weekend in Liga MX competition. All times are given in Eastern DST (UTC -4).
