Mexicans Abroad: HH Piles on the Minutes, Pulido is Ready for the Postseason, and Chicharito Makes a Promise.

FutMexNation is back to bring you the latest information on your favorite ‘Extranjeros’. It was a jampacked week for some of the leagues abroad. Here are the key points you might’ve missed from our favorite Aztecs:

La Liga

HH Gaining Minutes and Confidence

Héctor Herrera has become a frequent staple in the Atlético Madrid lineup the past several matches. HH was in the starting lineup for both encounters this week (Champions League and La Liga), a positive development for an integral part of Tata Martino’s midfield. Los Colchoneros are on a three-game winning streak (in all competitions) and HH has played 216 minutes of them. The Red and White offense has seen a resurgence in their offense with a total of eight goals in three matches. Thanks to Herrera’s command of the mid, Atleti is primed to make a run in both La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.

NEXT MATCH: Tue., Nov. 3rd against Lokomotiv Moscow (UEFA Champions League)

MLS (Major League Soccer)

AP9 Propelled Sporting KC into the Postseason

Since joining Sporting Kansas City, Alan Pulido has been a playmaker and a constant threat for defenses. AP9 and his Wizards punched their ticket for a postseason appearance after a 1-0 victory over Cincinnati. In the 57th minute, Pulido delivered a masterful assist to Roger Espinoza for the game-winner. Despite their canceled game against Minnesota on Sunday (due to COVID-19 cases), AP and KC are ready for postseason action.

NEXT MATCH: Sun., Nov. 8th against Real Salt Lake (MLS)

Chicharito Missed 3 Consecutive Matches

The LA Galaxy has a lot of soul searching to do after a disappointing season. The expectation was high for both JavierChicharitoHernandez and the club. The anticipation of a Vela versus Chicharito “El Trafico” left us dreaming and wondering what if. Mexico’s all-time leading scorer has delivered only one goal in 10 matches since joining the club. The recent firing of head coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto triggered CH14 to post on his Instagram page a message to his fans. In summary, the message stated that he is working harder than ever to regain his form and confidence on the pitch. He also promised that he will not fail all the people who gave him the opportunity in LA. The Galaxy have lost three consecutive matches and could benefit from a Chicharito resurrection but questions of whether he will play in the match against Seattle are still up in the air given the extent of his reported injury.
