In a player mix zone after Mexico’s uneventful tie vs Jamaica, Jesus Duenas spoke out when asked about fans not being too happy with the result.

“Fans are always like this. If you lose or tie they are against you but if you win, it’s all smiles and you are the best”

The attention during the match quickly turned to the stands at the 74th minute as many of El Tri’s fans started whistling and booing the team. When the final whistle blew after a lackluster 0-0 draw, the fans erupted into a louder synchronized roar of boos to express their disappointment in the game.

“We don’t play to make the fans happy, we first play for ourselves and as a group, then for the fans as a consequence”

Mexico will play their last group stage match on Sunday, July 16th against Curacao.
